LESLIE LIKES: Due App

Never Forget Anything Again! (I like the sound of that!)

February is Time Management month so I’m sharing one of my favorite time managing apps, Due App! Our schedules are busy and our plates are full – it’s so hard to keep track of everything. I love a paper planner of course, but sometimes we need additional reminders too.

Chocolate Banana Power Muffins

Food for thought…

We’re all about saving time – especially this month! And these muffins do the trick! These Chocolate Banana Power Muffins are a full of protein and fiber and make an easy grab and go snack or breakfast. The best part is that you can easily make a double batch (48 muffins!), freeze them and have plenty saved for when you need them.  No more grabbing frozen waffles or processed granola bars as you run out the door!

LESLIE LIKES: Surfloor

Surfloor - Mesmerizing Colors that flow under your feet!

I am so excited about Surfloor, my Leslie Likes favorite item for December! These square mats are filled with bright, contrasting colors that swirl and move with every step, hop or dance move. They are perfect for stimulating sensory and perceptual development with their unique feel and visual design. Reviewers have said that walking on them is such a fun and unique feeling – almost like surfing on the ground! The tiles are leak proof, extremely durable, and have an anti-slip back. Surfloor tiles are completely mesmerizing, totally fun and would make the perfect gift for kids of all ages this holiday season!

Peanut Butter Bars

Food for thought….

The holidays are fast approaching and that means things are about to get busy!! From shopping for friends and family, to holiday programs and parties, everyone is on the go during the holidays. That’s why I love these no bake peanut butter bars that kids (and adults) can grab on their way out door. They are super easy to make, are a great alternative to processed bars and kids love them. Feel free to add in a little ground flaxseed, try them with different nut butter, or top them with a little drizzle of chocolate for an extra special treat!

What Motivates You?

“I just can’t get motivated.”  Or, “It’s so hard to stay motivated.”  Sound familiar?  I hear that constantly from my clients whether it is an adult trying for the umpteenth time to clean out an attic or from a student working on an English term paper.  For them, it is less about disorganization or even time management and more about the desire and the will to begin or to keep going.  So how do we teach motivation? That’s a tricky one.  Here are some insights.

LESLIE LIKES: Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty

I love Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty!!  It really is the ultimate fidget tool that can help relieve stress, enhance focus, inspire creativity and it is just plain fun to play with.  You can squeeze it, stretch it, knead it, and tear it.  It’s non-toxic, never dries out and comes in so many fun colors.  Whether you are a student that benefits from fidgeting to help focus, or an adult in need of stress relief during the workday, you’ll love this product!

Are You Sure It’s Attention Deficit?

All individuals who show hyperactivity, inattention, and/or impulsivity do not have ADHD. Consider all behaviors before a diagnosis is made.

Joey has a hard time in the fourth grade. He is restless and has difficulty staying on task when doing work at his desk. His teacher complains that he daydreams a lot, and he frequently does not finish his classwork. During class discussions, though, he is focused and on task. He relates well to classmates, and plays games with friends at recess.
