What Parents Are Saying...
“Leslie’s tips have cut through the fog and overload I’ve been feeling! They came at the perfect time! Another big boost of courage and solutions.”
— Valerie M.
The process begins with a 15-minute phone conversation with Leslie. (Completely optional) Some parents skip this step and go right to setting up their first appointment.
This time is used strategically. Leslie wants to get to know you and the issues at hand so once you begin the coaching process you can dive right in. She’ll ask questions about your student’s academic strengths, challenges, and concerns. Homelife. Interests. Your parenting style. All the things. Expectations and the format of the coaching process are also explained in detail.
If both you and Leslie agree that this is a match made in heaven, you’ll move on to the next steps. Setting up your first coaching session.
Think of it like this. You have Leslie on speed dial when you need her. For some parents, that means weekly sessions to consistently work through goals and identify action steps together. For others, it’s simply one or two sessions to create a master plan and then you’re off to the races. It’s completely up to you how often you meet. This process is customized to meet your needs as a parent.
Prior to the first session, you’ll email Leslie both long and short-term goals you’d like to work on. For the first session, we keep it tight-one or two action items to work on. This helps you stay focused and get answers right away. She’ll create an organized and detailed plan to follow. At the end of a session you always leave with a list of action items. A recording of the session is placed in a private Dropbox folder shared by you and Leslie. (This way you don’t have to worry or stress about taking notes during your time.) Leslie likes to leave two weeks between sessions giving you ample time to implement next steps.
Leslie works with you step-by-step to ensure you have all the necessary support you need in order to guide your child. One-on-one sessions are customized specifically for you and your family. Examples of support include:
Develop systems and structures in the home to promote your child’s independence.
Create road maps to help a child who’s newly diagnosed with ADHD, EF, or Learning Differences for both home and school.
Provide educational tools and resources to help you teach your child organization, time management, and even study skills.
Work with your school system to ensure your child receives the necessary services and support they qualify for.
Teach you proper communication techniques to parent a “challenging” child.
Create a plan for maintaining a sense of calm and peace throughout this learning process.
Help you set parameters for your child so they have choice and control.
CANCELLATION POLICY: You must provide at least 24 hours notice if you cannot make a session. If a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for that session and the session will be forfeited. If you need to cancel a session or are running late, please CALL the office at 914.315.9282 and leave a message. Do not email Leslie directly as she does not check emails when in a client session.

“My daughter started weeping at 10PM on a Sunday night and I used your “parade of miserables” idea to calm her down and walk her backwards through the issue (and through many twists and turns) until I got to the crux of the matter. In the past, I would’ve been completely flummoxed and instead, I was empowered with the right tool to be there to support her. Thank you again for all that you do!”
— Sherri R.
“I wanted to let you know that you’ve made a big difference in our lives. Jessica and I were reflecting on all the changes that we are grateful to you for all the new furniture and storage ideas that will keep us organized, replacing the closet doors, so we can see what is inside (brilliant!), granola bars, beef jerky, and I’ve stopped nagging her to read. We thank you so much!!”
— Andrea P.
“Everything I have done with OOOC has just been the best; from product recommendations to webinars to Leslie’s personal coaching. Excited my son is at a place where he too sees how OOOC can support him!”
— Robin G.
“We could not have made it this year without you!!! As you said to me many times, it’s never too late!! Thank you.”
— Susan K.
“Leslie Josel certainly gets it! She’s an expert in helping people with ADHD “see” time and learn to make choices that make better use of that valuable resource none of us can ever get back if we waste it! Her approach includes creating individual homework profiles – awesome!”
— Beth T.
“The last session was incredibly helpful! It really helped me find better communication immediately with Jack. We still get stuck but things have improved so much just from the little changes I’ve made and how I react to him. I can’t thank you enough! I am so grateful for your support. ”
