Do We Ever Have Enough Time

4Tools for More Effective Time Management

We complain about it all the time. There is never enough time. Our time gets out of our control. And, we never get it back once it is gone. So much has been written about time that it is hard to know where to begin. Keeping up with all the new apps, gadgets, time management features on our phone or computer is a full-time job. Here are a few of my favorite time management tools to help you sort it all out.

Evernote

Evernote enables you to have access to your notes no matter what device you used to input them. For example, if you’re at a meeting during the day and take notes on your iPad, you can look over those notes on your computer at home that evening. Once you set up your account, your information is automatically synced to all your devices. No need to email information or transfer documents. A huge time saver for sure!

Calendars and Reminders

The Reminder function in the Calendar app has so many functions to help manage time. It can keep track of important dates, meetings and appointments, as well as help manage projects. For example, if you enter a project’s due date on your Calendar, you can also set a Reminder for the date you want to get started, say a week or two beforehand. Or, if you have an appointment that takes time to travel to, you can set a Reminder for when you have to leave for the appointment, rather than merely have your Calendar tell you the time of the appointment. Time-saving at it’s best, giving you enough time to be on time!

Still not enough time? Try RescueTime!

This app is a Game Changer! Why? Because it is a time-tracking app that records how and where you spend your time online. Mic drop! It analyzes EVERYTHING you do in a day, from which apps you use to how much time you spend on your favorite websites. (No hiding your time management habits here!) Consequently, if you want to seriously eliminate the distractions in your life and get work done faster, RescueTime is a great way to improve your time management game. In addition, it can even temporarily block your go-to websites!

Analog Clock

Yup! You heard me. NUMBER ONE TOOL for learning about time is a good, ole fashioned analog clock. Simply put, an analog clock with its hands lets you see time move and therefore where you stand in relation to the rest of the day. Being able to see time move is the building blocks of time management and making sure you have enough time. So hang a clock in every room of the house you use (including the bathroom) so you can see the passing of time.
