What’s Your MVP?
I came across this great productivity tip from my recent issue of Family Circle Magazine. They write that perfection is the enemy of completion. I say perfection it is the enemy of just getting started!
We feel that we need to put out the highest quality of work first time out of the gate. Think students who get stuck writing a paper. Now it all makes sense!
But here's where the MVP comes in -- Minimum Viable Product. An MVP is a product development practice that means you build your product with the least amount of bells and whistles needed to get feedback for future development. THEN you build and perfect from there.
So what does that look like? If you have a proposal to write, draft a few points and bullets to make sure you are on the right track. If you have a paper to do? A rough outline or draft will do.
Whatever you are trying to do ask yourself first -- what is my MVP -- to get yourself started. Then push it out. I love this mindset!
